How To Use Facebook Messenger To Prospect And Recruit Professionally…The Smart Way

If I told you there were network marketers out there right now who were crushing it with the help of Facebook messenger, would you be interested in how they’re doing it?

And when I say “crush it” I mean these network marketers are bringing in leads, who turn themselves into prospects, who eventually convert into paying customers and sometimes even business builders on their team!

Sound too good to be true?

Well, it’s not, and it’s happening right now in the industry…

But before we dig into the “How To’s”, let me start with a personal (and kinda embarrassing) story…

I’ve been in network marketing for a little over 7 years now, and I’ve had my fair share of frustrations in the industry.

I’ve done the house to house and hotel meeting to hotel meeting thing, and the best results I was able to achieve was $2,000 per month in residual income.

We always talked about the “leverage” in the business, but the main thing I was taught was the “it’s not selling, it’s sharing”…and “just bring more people back to the campfire” strategy.

Sound familiar?

So I thought I’d take it upon myself to get “tech savvy” and try to use social media to build my business…

Let me just say that it was a massive train wreck…

But luckily I found some information and a group of mentors that got me on the right path and taught me tried and true skill sets that have allowed me to create an additional 5 figures of income into our home business this year.

But back to the train wreck…

Here was my original strategy…

I would friend as many people on Facebook as I could, wait for them to friend me back, then I’d message them on messenger and basically give them my “pitch”, usually to no avail (or they would just unfriend me)…

Ouch!

I then tried the more subtle approach of trying to engage them in fake and superficial conversation, trying to get them to ask me what I did so I could start “pitching” again…

Again, huge failure…

I didn’t know what I was doing wrong until I got the right information and started to learn what true marketing was, which was to actually learn what my prospect’s problems and frustrations were, and then craft a message with a solution that would help them move forward to achieve THEIR goals…

You mean serve the customer Dr. Jim?

You got it!

So here’s what I’ve discovered when it comes to using Facebook messenger properly and professionally…there’s actually a proven system that works to get people to reach out to YOU…

Here are 3 Tips To Using Facebook Messenger Like A PRO

Tip # 1: Start by creating Facebook posts that peak curiosity through offering a unique solution to the problems of your ideal customer.

People are on Facebook to be social, not to buy your stuff. They are on there with the mentality to be entertained or maybe even to just pass the time…

So your post needs to grab their attention, and speak to their pains and struggles, but also offer them a BIG BENEFIT and a SOLUTION to that problem…

There should be a bright, clear, interesting image to grab attention. (Smiling people seem to do very well by the way, and it’s always good if you’re one of the smiling people…)

Tip # 2: There needs to be a strong and clear call to action, that includes asking for “More Info”

This is where the rubber meets the road. Once a Facebook post starts to get engagement where people are commenting “More Info” the magic starts to happen…

First, Facebook loves engagement, so if you have hundreds of people asking for “More Info”, Facebook will show your post to more people, which will allow more people to come to you looking for the solution you are offering.

When people comment “More Info” on my Facebook post, now I reach out to them on messenger because they actually asked me to! Now you are no longer a spammer, now you are a consultant!

My messenger reply goes something like this…

“Thanks for reaching out…I’d love to help you…here’s 2 options, we can video chat or I can email you additional info…you choose.”

It’s a little more eloquent than that, but you get the point…

This leads me to the 3rd tip I’d like to offer you…

Tip# 3: Use an Online Scheduling Tool like Schedule Once to up your professionalism

I want people to know that they are working with a professional, and professionals protect their time.

When people are trying to set up a time to speak to me, I send them a link to my calendar to schedule a time with me (that’s been pre-selected and is convenient for me and my schedule).

By doing it this way, you are now protecting your most valuable asset, which is your time, and you are staying organized in your business building activity.

How cool is that?

Gone are the days now of chasing down friends and family, or prospecting everyone who can “fog a mirror”…

Now, you actually have people who are MORE QUALIFIED to talk to because they’ve “raised their hand” numerous times and basically said “Yes! I am qualified and am interested” because they’ve done a few key things…

1. They’ve engaged on your Facebook post and asked you for more info.

2. They’ve taken action by either giving you their email in exchange for a solution to their problem, or

3. They’ve actually scheduled a time on YOUR calendar at a time preselected by YOU to talk about your solution to their problem.

Now, isn’t that a better solution and process then the first story I told you?

Just wait until you implement this strategy into your business…
